Hey guys, I wish you all could have been here!! We had a Halloween party for the kids last night that was great! They are such a perfect age to LOVE this stuff and they all did. It was a front yard party so we got to see all the trick-or-treaters as they came by and the fun never ended! There were glow sticks everywhere, candy like you wouldn't believe, food that was amazing (it was pot luck) and great friends.
Braydon went as a Soldier and the highlight of his evening was when a woman told him "thank you for your service". He felt very proud! A friend of ours told him about 20 times that the most important part of his costume was the American flag on his arm so he showed everyone his flag all night! He collected more candy than I think I ever got as a kid and was the only one in the group that was THRILLED when a house gave them full sized candy bars. I don't know why but the other kids didn't think it was that great but B did!...it was the first to go.
Per the usual the kids got to eat as much candy as they could and they did! We got home and B went off into a corner on the porch for about 20 minutes and 20 wrappers before coming out for air, chocolate mustache and sucker in mouth.
Caleb was the best little cowboy you had ever seen! He was "Woody" but bailed on parts of the Woody costume and ended up as just a real rootin tootin cowboy! His gun stayed with him all night and when the other kids played with glow swords he declined and just played with his gun :). He too ate a ton of candy but nothing like his older brother. For one he can't open them as well and secondly he has far less interest in sweets. I made hot dogs wrapped in cresent rolls with icing eyes as mummies and I think he ate that whole tray by himself!
So this morning when B was analyzing buckets he first placed the claim that Caleb took some of his candy (cause there was clearly more in Zonies bucket) and when that didn't stick he claimed that he got to go to more houses than he did! Hilarious!
Austin was the HIT of the party! I originally had a lion costume for him but got completely inspired by the Hobo idea I saw online and it was perfect!!!! Soooo cute!!! The makeup/beard was missing the "goatee" early in the night from a series of drooling episodes and pacifier sucking but the idea maintained and he looked great! To see him crawl around with that sign on his back that said will work for candy was amazing and then you call his name, he looks at you and has a beard!! Priceless!

From Crawling to walking
Boys are growing like little monsters and we had a fourth in the mix this week when a friend stayed with us for three nights.
Braydon is seems to have two focuses right now, eating EVERYTHING in the house and asserting his own will on everything he does or is expected to do. He is full of opinions which I love but we are still working on how to deliver those opinions. Unlike all the other kids (moms that I talk to) he has strong thoughts on what he is going to wear each morning. I try and get him to "match" thing up but that usually backfires with plaids and strips mixed or another strange yet justified concoction. We just went to the store to get him a few things (he wears a 5T). I picked out a pile of clothes and then he goes through it takes most out and decides what we will keep. When he is not picking out clothes he is building lego towers, jumping on the trampoline (the fun has yet to wear off), riding is bike, playing golf or at school.
Poor Caleb was at the store with us and not sure why he doesn't get any new clothes. I try to explain to him he doesnt need any but he is so focused on a Rodeo/Cowboy shirt that he saw that I had to give in. He is a cowboy and there is no way around it. I am not sure if he is sick of people telling him that they like his boots or if he is just growing up but his reaction has gone from getting a HUGE grin and then sheepishly looking up to say thank you to wear we are now. Now when people say "I love your boots" He looks them dead on and says "thanks, I have spurs too" No grin, no sideways smile just the facts. Then off on his own clanking all the way. He too loves the trampoline but his favorite toys are still his horses and barn. He loves his little bro and is sooo patient with him when he crawls over to his horses and messes them all up. " AAAAUUUUSTIN".....is all he will say and then he goes about putting them all back where they belong.
AAAAUUUUSSTIN...is on the move. He started crawling about two weeks ago but never loved it. Even when crawling he would try to get on his toes and crawl hands and feet, not hands and knees. Now we are three days into him pulling up to his feet and one day into him walking around tables and ottomans. He LOVES it. He smiles so big when he takes a step and then goes right back into concentration mode to prep for the next big move of foot. :)
Seems like they have all gotten some of Robs qualities that I love to see. Braydon has the patience of a saint (Jobe to be exact). Caleb sticks his tongue out when he trys to build things or is focused. Austin can do anything he puts his little mind to. He is sooo strong and you can see his determination at just 7mos.
I am a LUCKY MAMA!!!!!!

Not much to tell....
Not much to tell....we have been busy with the weather getting nicer here there are festivals every weekend. We went to October fest last weekend and Taco Festival this weekend.
Austin and B had Doctors appointments this week. B got shots and they HURT. I felt so bad for him. He had forgotten that they were gonna hurt and then one of them was a bad one that caused him to not move his arm for the next 30min. But he was tough and got a popsicle. Austin did great, he is measuring "off the charts" but all of his measurements put him as an 18 month old (he is 7mos). He looks more and more like Robbie everyday!
We have had lots of playdates and outings to the library. This week is a special week for everyone because their best friend Eoin will be staying with us for two nights so SLUMBER PARTY here we come!

Fun Times with my boys.
We had a great week.
Caleb, Austin and I are having fabulous "us" time while B is at school. Boys are growing like crazy and Austin is once again full of announcements@
Braydon loves school and is doing wonderful! I met with his teacher the other day and she was very complimentary but also gave us some things we could work on at home. We have been practicing how to hold a pen, cutting and drawing at night...HE LOVES IT! and I am so impressed. Thanks to Jess, I know how to be pushing Caleb as well and he is drawing circles and making ladders (drawing them) like he has been doing it for years. Braydon is blessed with the ability to concentrate and stay focused "the patience of Jobe" according to GiGi and I have to agree. We will sit at the table and after about 10min Caleb is up and looking for something else to do. After 20min I am up looking for something else to do. After 25min Rob is throwing all sorts of other activity options at B to get him away from the table but B will just sit there forever perfecting what he is working on or asking for another letter to practice. You go kid!
Caleb....my little cowboy. He has been wearing his boots and spurs ever since we left the ranch. We talk to about 4 strangers a day because of those boots. The conversations always start with "Hey man I love your boots!" "tanks" Caleb replies and then the person looks at me for the story. I let them know there is no "story" he is a Cowboy, we wear them everyday, we have to leave our hat in the car or at home but he is a Cowboy! Caleb grins and walks off..spurs jingling. :) He loves being a Cowboy. For Halloween he wants to be a "commercialized cowboy" so he is going to be Woody. My girlfriend gave us the outfit but he was not taken with the onsie that had just a picture of a holster and bandana. So we are gonna be the real thing. We have the jeans, boots, spurs, and hat. I am making the cowhide vest and this week we got him holsters......and the fun began! The boys have been wearing them everyday and shooting "banging" as they call it, everything they see. Their favorite target is the dogs. They actually run!
On a side note. Caleb's boots got really dirty the other day and he said he would put on other shoes (cause I said I wouldn't clean them right then and that he had to wait). He walked away to get other shoes and I was shocked with how sad I was that he was not going to be in his boots. "what if this made him change his mind about the boots? What if he stopped wearing them all together..... Not an option!" I ran and cleaned the boots, handed them to him and they have been back on his feet for the last few days like they should be. Things are right at the Doanes
Austin is a rock star we have an upper middle tooth that has just came through. He is CRAWLING!!! That is right he is off, only 4 or 5 crawls but he gets where he wants when he wants to! He is also SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT! He is working hard and growing fast. We go to his 6mo check next week so I will keep you guys posted on how it goes.

Howdy
Finally feeling a bit "back at home". Kids are feeling better, we are in full swing of school, playdates and other extra curricular activities.
Skinny baby is doing all sorts of new and amazing things, he is up on all fours constantly and has done a crawl (never a series) a number of times, he is growing hair and teeth! He is getting much better at sitting up and sleeping. Overall he is taking off! He thinks his brothers are the best thing in the world. He will sit in the living room with them and watch them for hours!! If they laugh he laughs and most of all, they love him! They stop playing sporadically throughout the days to give him a kiss or hand him a toy. They love their little bro.
Zonie is a HOOT! He loves being a comedian and is always doing CRAZY things to get a response from his siblings. Wear sounds, faces, outburst, body contortions, you name it! (he is pretty funny too). He is also my little soft heart. He is the first to say I love you and he is ALWAYS in the mood for a snuggle! Could be the age but whatever it is I love it.
B is doing great, my guess is he is growing again because he is eating us out of house and home and never fights me on taking a nap. His naps are lasting 2+ hours each day and this was the kid that just two months ago had me thinking he was out growing naps. He has been practicing his writing and he is doing excellent. He writes his letters (freehand) now and is as proud as a little peacock about it. Rob and I are in deep discussion on when to put him into Kinder and how to get him ready because the schools here wont take him until two years from now (unless we do private). Private it may be.....who knows.

WE ARE BACK!!!
We are back and what a blast!!! This is all going to be in summary because there is WAY TOO much to talk about in one blog. But WHAT A WONDERFUL VACATION!
Everything started with the Doanes and McCarthy families on the ranch for a little RnR. It was great to get away with good friends, all the kids got along so well and little Austin stayed with Jess and Mom so it was REALLY nice to get to sleep through the night and sleep in! Thanks guys.
After a great time at the Ranch we got a short visit with Jonny, then celebrated a 4year old birthday party for B and Grace! Can yall believe they are 4! Holy cow! That means that Rob and I are old too...... It was a great party full of participating adults with games like "egg on a spoon race", "eat the donut from a string", balloon pop and two cakes!!!!! Thanks to Jess and Bob for hosting.
Then we had week or so with the Burke family that was sprinkled with all sorts of family visitors. We saw aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents etc. Everyone looked great and lucky to be able to say Everyone is doing great.
Then back to the ranch, 6days with Mame and Cap'n and 2 days with Mame, Cap'n, Jess, Bob, Grace and Sam. Everyone but Rob :(
Other than missing dad, the kids had a blast! tons of time was spent swinging, running, camping, hanging around the fire, bug hunts, frog hunts, riding horses, finding cows....on and on and on.
The following time was with the Burkes where we all had a blast and the cousins were inseparable! Thanks to everyone that hosted and we miss you all. Look forward to a Thanksgiving visit here shortly.
Sorry I don't have pics on snapfish for everyone, my camera died early in the trip and I am VERY short on pics. Love to all.

What a week!!
Austin is teething, Caleb had a UTI, Robbie got in a wreck, one of my good friends had a stroke (at 28) and I am emotionally SPENT!!
Monday: I get a call from a girlfriend telling me the news that one of our great friends has had two strokes. She was unconscious for 48hrs and unable to move the left side of her body.
Tuesday- Wednesday: Caleb Complained for a day that it hurt when he went potty, on day 2 there was blood in his urine! We rushed to the DR and with the preliminary test saying it was not a UTI we postponed antibiotics for 24hrs and did baking soda baths. After SCREAMING each time he went potty, having a fever and needing to be cuddled every two seconds I demanded the antibiotic and we had relief in 6hours.
During the UTI, fever, snuggles and cranky Caleb time we had Austin teething....also screaming, having a fever and needing to be cuddled every two seconds.
Poor B was house bound with crazy siblings and a mom who didn't have much extra time :( So he decides to play in the front yard/dirt/cement. He was barefoot (after mom warned him not too) and within 15minutes could not walk and had a half dollar sized blister on the balls of both feet (gotta love phoenix heat).
Thursday: I get 8 calls (missed them all cause me and the boys were outside) from Rob and finally a text message saying "I have been in a wreck, car totaled, I am ok."
WHAT?!?!?!?! The boys and I are loaded in the car in 2minutes flying down to find our dad on the side of the road with a car that looks like it has just been "had" in a monster truck rally.
Thank God he is OK!!! Turns out he and 4 other cars were at a dead stop on the freeway (due to a hit and run in front of them) when a Buick comes barreling down the road not noticing the "stopped traffic" ..... Rob was the last in line of "stopped cars" so he took the full impact....and subsequently passed it along to the RAV4 who passed HIM on to a Ford F150. It was a shit show on HWY 202! Did I mention how unbelievably lucky we are to have him home and safe?!!
Now lets all keep our fingers crossed we get a new car out of this :)
WHEWWWWWWW....the week is over! As a follow up....Austin is still teething, Caleb is feeling better, B is getting attention, his blisters are healing, Rob is healthy, we are down to one car and EVERYONE is exhausted!!!

Big Changes in the Doane House
Well the boots are still on everyday but the great news about the boots is that he has decided to wear socks with them so we are no longer dealing with the smell! Over all the big news with Caleb is that he is POTTY TRAINING and i venture to say trained (but we all know how that turned out last time). So after my last blog when I admitted to not using cloth diapers anymore I had to ask myself why I had stopped since now I am at home and they really do save $. I had no valid answer so I pulled them out and have been using them for the past 1-2 weeks. Well Caleb hates the feeling of being wet it turns out and would ask me every two seconds for a new diaper. I would refuse (you all may see this as cruel or gross but it works!) and only change him every two hours, not every time a tsp of tee tee went in it. But each time he would cry to me "new diaper mommy, this wet" I would tell him "No diaper, you need to stop your tee tee and tell mom BEFORE it goes in your diaper if you want a dry diaper" and bingo. Three days ago he announced that his tee tee was coming and we rushed to the potty, put it in the potty, got a reward and we are three days and a few hundred M&M into this with only one accident to speak of. Way to go Zonie!!
B is the cheerleader ever! With Caleb potty training B is the first to sing him a good job song or remind him to go get his treat! It is sooooo cool. He even told Mame and Capn' on skype the other night that Caleb was doing "so excellent" at potty training. I love it. He has also been using the word "enjoy" quite a bit which i find adorable. ex: "B do you want some more steak?" "no, I didn't enjoy it as much as the mashed potatoes, I will have some more potatoes". I don't know why but i get a kick out of it each time, it just sounds so grown up. Along with "enjoying" or "not enjoying" things, he is very interested in"teamwork" and takes every opportunity to get his brothers help with something by declaring it "teamwork". Ex: I say "B pick up all of these cars you took out". "ok, mom". then Braydon says "Hey Caleb, lets use teamwork and you pick up all the cars and I will hold the bag". Most of all INDEPENDENT is the word that stands out about B. if he can not reach something, he pulls a chair over and figures out how to get it or he will work at something (like turning his shirt right side out) for 10min until he gets it so he doesn't have to ask for help!!! Go B Go!!!
I have been exhausted with all of Austin's late night partying so Rob has taken matters into his own hands. He is letting AJ have an afternoon nap but is then keeping him up until 9pm every night and AJ has started sleeping through the night, with an occasional wake up/ limb getting stuck out of the crib. But there are no more night time feedings or 2/3 wake ups!! WHAT SUCCESS! I knew I married a great man :)
So lets review the way Rob and my's life has changed in the last week....DRAMATICALLY!!!! Two of three children are potty trained, we are down on our diaper budget, we are actually sleeping, and we have two major parenting hurdles out of the way!!!! We are living right!!!

Great weekend
Hey guys! What a great weekend. Austin got Baptized and we had wonderful family and friends to help celebrate. The Doanes and Elwells were in town for the big day and Austin LOVED the attention. It was almost as if he could not imagine something as great as a day about him. Tons of kisses, snuggles and love from all the family to all the boys but Austin knew Sunday was his day. Austin looked Handsome!!! His baptism was wonderful, he slept for most of it but considering some of the other options we were all very proud of him. Rob held him over the holy water for what seemed like a long time and when he pulled him back up there was a collective sigh of relief from our side of the church, everyone had been holding their breath hoping that he didn't puke in the holy water, but he didn't and he is now one of the newest members of the church! After church we had some friends back at our house for a pool party and cupcakes.
The rest of the weekend was pool time fun with Grandparents, wonderful dinners for the adults and great company! No complaints!!
The boys had a trip to the Children's museum that was a blast, they played and ran for hours. There was a little boy there (prob about 6) that was a COWBOY! He had on a hat, button down shirt, leather vest with a sheriffs badge, belt buckle, jeans, boots and SPURS! This was the real deal and Caleb....found his idol. Caleb tracked him the first time he walked by and then when we saw him again I said "Caleb, did you see that Cowboy?" The boy heard me and smiled from ear to ear, he looked back at us over his shoulder. Caleb (mouth agape) stared....."Caleb" I say, "doesn't he look wonderful, he is a real cowboy" The older kid is thrilled with this and smiling at Caleb's effort/boots. Caleb still unable to speak because he is standing so close to a REAL cowboy, just nods. "Show him your boots Caleb" Caleb, does not break stare.....throws one foot in front of him resting his foot on the heal of his boot. "Nice boots says the boy" and just like that....the cowboy was gone.
The whole 30seconds was hilarious!!! Caleb definitely had a wonderful time at the museum.
Braydon was a monkey all day at the museum. He was climbing, jumping, running, he couldn't believe that there were buildings that big built just for playing! He had a blast and was exhausted!! He loved the time with his extended family this week and we are still asking about when we will be seeing everyone again and if they will be at his "number four" birthday. :) We did a little voice recording for a picture frame of Mary and Steve's today, we had a few things that Caleb and Braydon were going to say so we practiced and practiced and then tried, and tried, and tried, and tried and .... well you get the picture. 30 horrible recordings later we had just entered our voices in the frame one last time, we listen to it again to see how it came out and as if B had not been doing this with us for the last 20 minutes, he cocks his head to the side and says "hey mom, there are people in that box talking"......I didn't know what to say.

The Stand Off
As I type, Caleb and I are in another stand off. He had a plate of rice and beans tonight for dinner and he wanted to make his brother laugh so he dumped the entire plate upside down over his arm......REALLY!!??!!!???? I couldn't even respond I was so mad so I stared him down and when he was done cracking up I told him he would pick up every piece of rice and every bean off the floor and table before he did anything else (I put the dogs outside so he didn't get any help). If he wanted to "not finish" he could go to bed....he has been in bed twice and he is half way through. After about 10 min in his room he thinks he is ready to attack the mess again so he gives it another go. The first round of clean up consisted of him holding the food above his head and dropping it onto his plate. I told him not too, he did it again and started cracking up...Time Out! After time out he started grabbing the food by the handful, half of the white rice sticking to his hands and then shaking them....rice everywhere.....Time Out! Let me just mention that Robbie is laughing this whole time as hard as Caleb was when he first dumped the bowl over. The only words that Rob can get out between fits of giggles is "He is YOUR son"......Really Rob?.....really helpful. So here we are 2 self dismissals and 2 time outs later and Caleb seems committed, the table is more table than rice now and the floor has been cleaned....I WIN!
Outside of these moments Caleb is doing WONDERFUL! He has lost all of his baby fat and it is crazy looking at him cause he is no longer a toddler, he is all Boy! His neck is getting really long and his legs are long (the 1 inch heel of the boot helps), all of him seems so mature! His vocabulary is constantly improving and the discussions between Braydon and him have some real depth now, I love it. Caleb has also really taken to Austin in the last two weeks. I often find him over by the baby, stroking his cheeks, talking sweet or bringing him toys! and he always passes on what Austin is saying, he feels obligated to be AJ's personal translator. Ex. Yesterday, Austin "awahhha!" "Mom, Austin wants some ice cream! or even better "ughhuaeew" Caleb then announces "mom, I think he has a poopy diaper!" It is a sign of what good friends they will be when Austin gets bigger!
Austin is rolling backwards and forwards and backwards and forwards, he is crazy. I can put him on the floor of the living room, come back 5 minutes later and he will be at the opposite end of the room. His excersaucer is of much interest these days and the only thing missing is a Doorway Jumper! This kid loves to bounce so I have to get to a second hand store (poor kid, if it isn't his brothers hand-me-downs it is someone else's) and pick one up for him! I know he will love it! AJ also got some quality one on one time with his Aunt Alice this weekend, we stayed with Alice and Bob and Alice was gracious enough to watch AJ for a few hours! Lets just say, she needed a drink when it was all over, his puking kinda kept her on her toes....Sorry Alice!

Braydon is TALL! Just like Caleb he is all boy, long and lean! I am constantly struck by his ability to remember things, his sense of direction and how quickly he picks up on things.
Ex. We are driving into a part of town that we had never been too and he says..."hey mom, I don't know this place". Then as soon as we get back to our side of town he tells me where we are in comparison to what he knows...."this is close to swimming" and "now we are close to school"
Picking up on things...Ex. Rob and he were playing catch about two weeks ago and Rob told him to stand sideways when he throws, they spend another 20minutes playing catch and every time he has thrown with his dad since then he goes right to his sideways stance.....I am impressed!!
We did take the kids to get haircuts even after the MANY phone calls telling us that you all loved it long and I will say when the hair was gone I was sad too. I think we will let it grow again for awhile. sorry for the set back :)
Thanks again to Alice and Bob for letting us stay and do the beach this weekend! We had a blast!

Great week here
All is well not much to report.
B has declared "too old" for his current and photographed undies. He feels that since he is going to be four (almost as big as daddy) he needs to get the long kind of undies...aka...boxer briefs. So at a trip to the store this week B got to graduate into "long undies". He is so proud. He is also really hooked on turning 4. Everyday he asks me if it is his Bday and then he gives me the list of things he wants when it is his 4th bday. "Four new race cars, cause I am gonna be Four". "And a race track so they can go supper fast", "and probably the new movie, that you have not seen yet mom and only me, my brother and my daddy knows how it goes....and not you cause you havent seen it yet"......and on and on and on.....but the theme is the same.....CARS!
Caleb and I got in a fight today that landed his stubborn butt in his room for two hours until he put shoes on that were NOT BOOTS. Now, let me say that I am not opposed to the boots and to be honest I feel I am very good about letting him wear them EVERYWHERE! Grocery store, Target, gym, friends houses, neighborhood, you name it but NOT the pool. We have done that once and I ended up carrying him screaming under one arm, with the baby carrier in the other (SWEATING like a crazy lady) all the way to the car cause "the boots hurt too much" (they were wet feet and he refuses socks). So we talked about it in depth that day and then today when we were gearing up to go back to the pool he threw a fit when I reminded him that boots were not allowed.....and you can piece the rest together....2 hours in his room....able to come out whenever he had shoes on that were not boots....me and B played a lot of card games in that two hours..... finally Caleb emerged splotchy and streaked from all the crying with one green Croc on the left foot and a flip flop on the right. "I am ready".....I rolled my eyes and we were off to the pool.
We spent a lot of time at the community pool this week and last, it has a beach like edge so the kids can walk in on their own and not ever get water over their chests. They are doing great! B loves to swim and hold his breath (without the vest) because he knows he can stand up whenever he needs to. Caleb is getting in....which is an improvement.
Austin had his 4mos check today. He is in the 97th percentile for everything and when I asked about his reflux I was told "not to worry...it doesn't seem to be effecting his weight." True but the LAUNDRY...!!! Ugh!!! He also got shots so with a dose of Tylonle to cut the fever he has been asleep for 5 hours. I can only imagine how that will backfire tonight but for now I am enjoying getting the house cleaned and playing with the older two.
Miss you guys!
Rob is in Cali for 3days and once again every phone call from him is talk of how perfect the weather is and how we HAVE to move there. We will see where things take us next but does he have to keep talking about the weather? It is 120 here.

Treasures seem to be the theme of the month
Treasures, Treasures and more Treasures. Every morning B comes out with his "treasures", his box of cars. Caleb comes out with his....two stuffed horses and then goes back for his stick horse. These items accompany the boys through the house and the for the rest of the day. We continue to find treasures throughout the day ( a penny, piece of colored plastic, a mint from a restaurant) and anything that seems important to the 4ft and under club. These "treasures" get the privelage of being put in a pocket with a future that will most likely land them in the lint collector of my dryer but for the day, hour of minute they are a priceless must have!
Along with the treasures of stuffed horses Caleb has recieved his new boots! Thats right! We now have boots that dont fall off every time his feet come more than an inch off the ground. They are really cute and as we could have all imagined he loves them. They were worn to the public pool today and everywhere else for the last 72hours. He cried when I told him that boots can not take naps with us but that they can sit next to our beds for when we wake up (I am starting to worry about this kid). Just like the last pair, he wears them with no socks and in 120 degree weather we have had to up our bathing to an extra night a week just due to the foot odor...Awesome.
Though B loves his cars he got a bit jealous at Caleb's new boots so for the last few days I have had two horse riding maniacs in the house. B has dubbed himself "Cowboy Braydon". But every once in awhile the two of them will throw out their new cowboy names and asked to be referred to as "Cowboy Small" after a character in a book that we read. B also asked if we could go to the store today and get him and Caleb a Lasso. It went something like this..."Hey mom, I NEED to go to the store". "Why" I ask. "Cause I need one of those ropes that go in a circle so I can catch me some Cabs (calves)". "Well B, what store do you think we should go to to get you this Lasso?" I ask. "We need to go to the Target store or the Lowes store so Caleb and I can get our ropes and chaps cause we are Cowboy Small!"
We did not make it to the Target or Lowes store to get these items but he did ask that they be added to his birthday list. It was really cute. But then by 7pm this evening he was rejecting his brothers request to play Cowboy Small cause he was too busy with his cars.... I love these kids!
Austin is a HOUSE! He eats all the time and is loving solid foods! Actually it is the fruits that he loves! Rob came home yesterday to find me the food processor, all its parts, a small babyfood maker (I forgot we had) all covered in smashed bananas as I tried to start the process of "making all AJs food at home" we will see how long this last...probably as long as the cloth diapers did :)

Summer is getting Hot in AZ
It is HOT in AZ!! The weeks are averaging 110 but it definitely feels more like 115 at all hours. All of us are coping with lots of swimming and air conditioned playdates. Austn is growing like crazy and is getting baptised next month and we will have family here to celebrate! A great weekend ahead for the 4th of July wish we could share it with all yall.
Braydon LOVES swimming! Not swimming classes (he refused to do those) but in our pool he is a little fish. His favorite thing as of late is jumping off the sides and going all the way under. He is getting really good at holding his breath but maintains little interest in getting rid of his vest. He got new cars from the new Cars movie (thanks Grammie and Grammpie) and has been playing with them non stop! He know all the words to the first movie and talks through line after line while having the characters lined up in front of him. It is amazing how much fun he has and how many hours he can occupy with these thing! It is also really neat to watch
Caleb....Cowboy Cal as dubbed by Mame. This weeks outfit has been HILARIOUS! Cowboy hat, Mardi Gras beads, shirt, no pants, diaper and size 12 boots (the new ones are still not in). I think it is the beads that really put it over the edge. Rob and I sat and laughed at him for hours this weekend. He enjoys being a cowboy soooo much! We got a cowboy book that talks about all the cowboy clothes and horse clothes (chaps, spurs, saddle, stir up, etc.) that is allllll he wants to read! I love that he loves horses so much but I am secretly hoping he grows out of it before he gets too big because I cant afford a horse!
Austin ate food for the first time today! He loved it! Braydon and Caleb both spit out their first feedings and cried after just a few bites but with Austin there was no crying and he ate the whole bowl! Then he slept for four hours. Guess whos feedings are going to be saved for right before bed? Austin is getting chunky and staying soooo cute!! Dont worry I kiss him enough for all of you!

Hey Fam!
I have no idea what is going on with the blog site (or the user of the site) but I can not seem to log in anymore. Today I had to go through the process of opening a new account to get back into this one???? Who knows but again I apologize about the lack of info and blogs.
Great, Good and Wonderful is how I would describe the Doane house these days. No complaints from anyone just adorable stories:
1. Three days into a trip away with Rob Braydon turns to my mom and says "hey where is Mom and Dad?", you can tell how much we matter when Mame is in town :)
2. Caleb can no longer stand the small cowboy boots so he has found B's size 12 boots (B only wears a size 10 shoe to give you and idea of size) but Caleb shuffles around in these things everyday and has about 3 fits a day because they keep falling off and he gets so frustrated. (new boots are in the mail)
3. Braydon is asserting his ability to make decisions more and more. Today he wanted to walk around in his undies only. I tell him that he has to put shorts on cause we have workers at the house. He does not want to so I tell him to put shorts on or he has to stay in his room.....So he stayed in his room for close to two hours.
4. Caleb wore his bike helmet for hours yesterday, it was 113 degrees outside, when he took it off it looked like he had just gotten out of the shower! Guess what is back on his head today???? Yep...he has a thing for odd clothing.
5. Austin is smiling all the time and there is a suspicion that he may have a dimple!
That is quick and simple. More to come soon.

4. Caleb wore his bike helmet for hours yesterday, it was 113 degrees outside, when he took it off it looked like he had just gotten out of the shower! Guess what is back on his head today???? Yep...he has a thing for odd clothing.
5. Austin is smiling all the time and there is a suspicion that he may have a dimple!

Sorry for the delay
We have been having problems with our blog site but glad to say we are back up and running! And for anyone looking for other cute kiddos to follow, my sisters blog is thecoppertops.blogspot.com.
So things have been going great here. B had his last day of school last week with a performance that made me cry, we watched a friends kid for 3days so it was a big slumber party here. Rob and I celebrated our 5yr with a great dinner and night out (I am a lucky lady of 5+ years now :) ) Memorial day was great with good friends and good food. We brought a "crawfish boil" to AZ and it was a hit.
Boys Boys Boys....or at least that is how my house feels. Between my three and the constant influx of their friends I am VERY out numbered. Our latest "Boy" issue has been the wrestling....ugghhhh.... Is that all the male sex likes to do? Tackle each other to the ground, pull shirts and jump on each other? really? I mean, for the most part I am ok with this and until recently have felt like if you are wrestling and you get hurt...too bad. But Caleb took 2 too many spills this past week both of which were way to close to taking us to the hospital. So it was a whole new evaluation of "wrestling in the house". So the new rule is OUTSIDE. I dont care what happens but it happens in the front yard and here is my reasoning: If they all decide to take it out front than they are all in agreement that they want to wrestle and therefore if they get hurt it was their decision. Second, it is HOT out there so they are clearly committed and lets be honest...it wont last that long. The third and final thought is that there is really nothing to break out there and far less sharp corners for them to impale themselves on. I dont know if that is the right answer but it is the answer for now...keep you posted
Each of the boys is presenting their own challenge right now and I have been turning to friends and parenting books for the answers that are not there.
B is LOVING growing up, but there are growing pains! He does almost everything on his own (by choice), gets dressed, pours cereal and milk (a whole gallon ended up on the floor today...growing pain), he helps Caleb get dressed and he helps Austin with blankets, feedings, when he is crying etc. He loves doing everything on his own. This not only means messes but attitude! Since he can do a lot on his own he feels that he has a right to tell you how to do things and what you are doing wrong. (Not Cool) he has been talking back to every adult he comes in contact with telling them "how to do things".... Ugghhh. To his credit, he is a HUGE help and with his independence has emerged a really great swimmer! He wears a vest in the pool but can go all over the place, he goes fully under water, down the slide, in the deep end etc, he has the confidence he needs to keep doing great and by the end of the summer he will be swimming with no vest!
Caleb too is growing up and trying to express independence he really wants to try everything by himself. EXP. He starts getting out of the car (Tahoe) and say "I do myself" great................10 minutes later he has undone his seat belt gotten over the mess on the floor and is approaching the door. Just to call for help at the last minute so heaven forbid I go inside and put the melting ice cream away. He also gets very frustrated with his lack of language skills. He is talking like crazy but does not have all the words he wants so when he can not get his message across he pouts, and this is how his Pouting goes. First he does a fist shaking cry then he drops to his knees, slumps the rest of his body to the grown and casts his eyes down and to the far corner so that he can make eye contact with nothing but his own misery. It is quite a scene and he will keep himself on the ground for anywhere from 5minutes to 45. The thing that stands out the most with Caleb when he is not pouting his how much he loves people! He gets so genuinely excited to see people he cares about it is wonderful! You can top the feeling of seeing his face when he lights up at you coming down the hall!
Austin...they say they grow out of reflux anytime within the first year! Wow...we have a long way to go. But he is growing!!! He now wears 9mo clothing and smiles all the time (except when skyping..sorry people). He is also a very chill kid. Just like the other two he rarely cries and is always happy. we are so lucky and we know it. :)
Cant wait for you all to spend more time with these cute kids. Love and miss you all.

Best weekend...maybe ever!
Hey guys, we had one of the best weekends ever. Sunday was the day to end all days...we got up, got some excersize on our new bike equitment, then we hit the pool for some cooldown and relaxation. After nap we had a great dinner then we went to a free music night at the park where the kids danced until 9 while Rob and I had a glass of wine on the picnic blanket watching the kids go nuts! It was great!
The kids are hilarious and so cool.
This week B rode his bike all the way to his school (3.5 miles) which is really impressive for a 3yr old. He was so proud of himself! He and his brother were a hoot to watch dancing. For the most part they didn't really dance they just played crack the whip (Caleb was the whip) and Caleb always ended up on the ground and they would break out in hysterics! Then to break up the rough housing, Caleb would loose a croc (shoe) every once in a while and in great Big Brother fashion B would sit on the ground, grab his foot and wrestle the shoe back on. Caleb would be holding onto Braydon's head for dear life as he got jerked around on one leg. Once the shoe was back on they were back on the dance floor! It was SOOOO sweet to watch.
Caleb and the boots.....he has offically started to cry every time he walks in the cowboy boots. So as you can imagine I recommend that he doesn't wear them because they will hurt his toes. He then asks "walking hurt my toes?" "Yes" I say "walking in those boots will hurt your toes cause they are too small". "ok!!!" he replies. (What happens next is Hilarious!) he takes his boots off, wipes off the tear, Picks up the boots and runs to his barn full of horsies. He sits in front of the barn, puts his boots back on, smiles and says "no hurt, no walking!!!!" So now....he carries the boots to his activity of choice, sits in front of whatever he is going to do for the next few minutes and puts his boots back on. :)
Austin is great, he is such a "chill" kid and if it were not for all the extra laundry his spit up causes I may even say he is my easiest baby (which is really remarkable since they have all been so easy). He is gaining weight and growing like crazy! He had his 2month check up today and he is in the 75th percentile (quite a jump from the 10th percentile he was at 4weeks) He is smiling more and more and since he is only 9 weeks there is little more to report.
Miss you all and wish you all lived close enough to partake in our fun weekends!

Mothers Day Weekend
Hey moms out there! Happy Mothers Day!!!! I had a wonderful Mothers Day. Friends of mine from College came in town and stayed with us and there is nothing better than to share/show off your kids on Mothers Day! They made a wonderful Mothers day brunch and we relaxed by the pool, went out Saturday evening and really just had a great time. I got a MAJOR response from the last blog so I am sticking closer to what yall wanna hear about and will give an update on all the men in my life. This week I will start with the smallest of men....Austin.
AJ is a small version of Braydon. Their baby pictures look almost identical and I gave you one of B at 2mos for a point of comparison... it is crazy how similar they are. He is still throwing up all the time so the laundry is off the charts but in BIG news we got our first smile from him this week! Talk about rewarding!
Caleb is teetering on weather or not wearing the cowboy boots is worth the discomfort. This week we left them at home 3 days and 2 other days took them off saying "no mommy, boots off, hurt me". As you can see in the pic of what I call his "den" he is quite and animal lover. Every night he sleeps with 2 stuffed horses, a bunny rabbit, a lady bug and a dog. Maybe being a vet is in his future? He also likes to dress the part for the pool but he has no interest in getting in. He is always on the side playing at the water table and using water torture on the dogs.
Braydon LOVES the water and gets in almost everyday even though it is all by himself. He is at such a cool stage that he can play for hours by himself in the pretend world he is creating with his cars or other figures. He had a great week at school they did May Crowing and talked all about the Virgin Mary and he gave me a detailed report on Caterpillars turning into Butterflies and he made a cocoon at school.
Rob is doing great and had a really good time with our Friends also. We have found some "Favorite" spots in Scottsdale and with AJ getting older we are going out more and more. He is off to Seattle for work this week and will be living out a packed schedule from Monday to late Thursday night when we get him back. Work seems to be going fairly well and he really made Mother's day special by interviewing the boys and making me cards with their quotes on them. I love them!!
B's card said "Good Job making us dinner and playing with us" and he asked for a Christmas tree to be drawn on the front to color.
Caleb's card said "Thank you for my milk, my horsies and hugs" and he asked for a horse to be drawn on the front for coloring.
I am such a lucky mom!

Lets get to the good stuff
So this blog is gonna just be about the good stuff.... the boys!
Braydon:
B is a great big bro to the other two boys! He helps get Caleb dressed in the mornings (Zonie doesn't want moms help), he gets sooooo excited for his brothers when they get something new. He was genuinley thrilled for Caleb when he got a horse in his Easter basket! He told him how cool it was and he asked if he could show him how to brush his tail. It was so sweet, he took the horse just long enough to show Caleb how to do it and then he handed it back to him and said "There Caleb, that is how you do it, that is a neat one." Such a great big brother moment! Another of my recent favorites was this week we were in the car driving to the store and B exclaims "Hey! Mom, he let go of my finger." "What" I say. "Austin let go of my finger and I didnt want him to". :) Turns out that he tries to hold Austin's little finger every time we are in the car. I love that stuff!!!
What more can I tell you about B right now? He dresses himself every morning, he got is first Rosary this Easter, he has a couple really good friends here that he talks about all the time. His favorite game with Caleb is wrestling, his favorite thing to do alone is play "cars" (the cars from Cars movie to be specific) He recently got one of the characters...Mack..and he can not stop playing with it!! Great gift Cathy and Tim!! Thanks!!
Braydon has also taken to the cat across the street, Neo. Neo is a black long haired cat that is really friendly dispite the boys thinking they can play with him like a dog. B is starting to get that cats are less for "playing" with and more for petting and snuggling. He actually really likes this. he sits on the grass, puts his arm out and calls Neo over. He loves when Neo rubs around his legs and nudges him with his head, he will squeal with delight "Mom, Neo is snuggling me!".....now he wants a cat. So between the two dogs we already have, Calebs horse obsession and now B's cat interest we are going to have to move to a farm!!
Caleb:
Zonie, lets see...Zonie...he is talking all the time! He tells stories and communicates with B all day long (and this is what I mean by communicate). Exp: Caleb: "Bray, outside?" Braydon: "No, I dont want to go outside right now I am playing cars." Caleb: "Horsies?" Braydon: "No, I am gonna play with my cars" Caleb: "Me too?" Braydon: "Yeah, you can play too, here is Charlie Checker, you can be him."
It may not seem like much, but Caleb only needs a word or two at time to have full interaction with his fav playmate, Bray.
Zonie is completely obsessed with Horses, Cowboy boots and Cowboy hats. He can spot a horse ANYWHERE! and I assure you, you have never realized how many horses there are in your day to day world until you hang out with him. Did you know Tillamock cheese has a horses on it? Polo shirts (of course, but they don't even really look like horses), Wells Fargo bank....horses, street signs in OldTown Scottsdale...horses, Texas license plate...horse, They are everywhere!! and he loves them all equally. He has recently been exposed to Indians riding horses (the movie Spirit) and now he asks to go shirtless when he rides his horses.
And the boots/ wardrobe.....We are about two weeks into wearing boots exclusively!! The boots don't even fit anymore so he can not wear socks and he has blisters on the back of his heals. Don't think the blisters discourage the wearing of the boots...there is nothing that can discourage the boots! (Did I mention that his feet stink all the time) he even wears the boots during his nap. I make him take them off for night time and bath time but the rest is up to him. At least 3days a week he picks out his one and only Polo shirt to wear and calls it his "Horsie" shirt, it was originally a bright yellow with Navy Polo emblem but now it is a pale yellow with a light blue/purple emblem. Cowboy hat....often but not as often as the boots and he has to leave it in the car on most occasions.
I will admit that everyone who sees the boots thinks it is adorable and he has fans all over Arizona!
Austin:
Itty Bitty is doing great! Growing like a little tumble weed, he is in 3month clothing now. He has fat on his checks and legs! He is adorable. He is awake now for hours on end which is allowing his brothers to get some good quality time in. They play with him in his excersaucer, Bumbo and blankets. They set books up for him to look at, they bring him toys, etc. The other day he was in his swing and I went to check on him and you couldn't even see him. He had a doll, plastic keys, stuffed horse and two crackers on top of him. I took it as a sign that they really like him. Caleb giving him the horse was huge and knowing that Braydon was willing to part with two Teddy Grams was also monumental.
:) They are amazing and I probably don't give ya'll enough of an insight to how cool their little personalities are...so there you go!

Funcle and Easter
Hey guys, Happy Easter! Hope you guys all had as great of a weekend as we did! Jonny came in town this past Thursday and was here through Easter so he got to experience all the "kid" activities he could handle. Egg dying, Egg hunt and party, pics with the Easter Bunny, basket hiding and more. We had a blast and the kids loved sharing the fun activities but I think he is looking forward to the piece and quite of his own place.
The Easter party was possibly the best yet, there were only about 6 families but everyone had a blast (the Sangria was great!) and everyone stayed way past when we thought they would. The kids all found a ton of eggs as you will see in the photos and how no one ended up sick between that day and today is beyond me. Just like at Halloween we allowed the kids to eat until they could not eat anymore...so they ate....and ate....and ate! Robbie has refused all diaper duty since the candy intake has begun and I have to say it was a good call on his part.
We have been in the pool the last few days so that has been really great for the kids. I am a bathwater kind of girl so I have been on the side watching the fun with Austin. They have their water table set up right out by the pool with an umbrella in it, the slide pulled to the pool edge and floats everywhere. It is a regular party out there. They each have swimsuits with floats built into the chest and they love them! They get to be very independent in the water. Speaking of independent the kids swim lessons start Tomorrow so hopefully by the end of the summer they will be "independent" without the float suits.
Easter morning was magic today!!! This is the kind of stuff that I LOVE about being a parent. We hid buckets of candy for each of the kids and Calebs had a little horse (with removable saddle and a horse brush!) he is hooked. Braydons had a dirt biker and motorcycle in it...he has also not let his new little goodies out of his sight! The "hunt" for the buckets was great! and I tried to capture their little faces on camera so enjoy!!

Hey from Cousin Camp!
Hey every body! Hope you are all doing great. We are having so much fun with the Burke family! The kids get along so well and they have all changed a ton just since Christmas so I am glad there has not been too much of a time gap. Caleb and Sammy are playing together more and more as they both grow out of that "individual play" stage and to be honest I think Sammy likes having a little "boys club" to be a part of here at the Doane house. Jess and I sit back and watch during the week at how they all kinda puff up at each other with little shoves, mean looks and grunts. Not much comes of it but all the same it seems pretty innate to them and it is fun to watch.
We made an effort to take pics of all the kids together and what you see before you on the blog is the only 2 good pictures of the 50 or so taken....so enjoy!
So now for a little recap... Jess has continued to be a huge help each and every day even going so far as to let Rob and I have a few Date Nights. Not having the cost of a sitter has been great! Braydon went to school and soccer this week and had a lot of fun! He is getting really good at soccer and I think he is feeling more and more confident at school....so much so that I had to stay after and talk to his teacher on Thursday about some "behavioral concerns". Awesome,....having a teacher request you stay to discuss a topic like this is the last thing any parent wants to hear. Turns out his "behaivor" needs to be adjusted during school hours so Rob and I are on his @$$ like you can only imagine.
On another Braydon note, he is HUGE! I just can not believe how tall he is. In all the pics I am struck by how old and big he looks! I just cant believe this is my first baby...and he is so old and independent.
He and Grace have had a great time together and talk about INDEPENDENT! They don't need us for anything! Jess and I are constantly commenting on what they can do on their own now and the really cool thing is that they talk to each other all day long. We are not really clear on what it is they discuss all day but at any time you can hear them chatting, laughing and negotiating about life. You got me on what they are talking about...but apparently 3yr old conversation is very stimulating.
I would also like to make the announcement that the Burkes have found a House (probably not my announcement to make)!! I am not quite clear on which of the many we have discussed that has become the winner but I know they are excited and they will be in Denver in June! Congrats, Burke fam!! The pics look fabulous and since it will be where my family spends much of their Colorado time I am thrilled to say, "I approve and it is gorgeous" :) .
Caleb..poor litte guy...went to the Doctor again this week and turns out he has yet another ear infection, Strep and muluscum. I have to tell you that hearing all of that really took the wind out of my sail. I feel like I have just gotten Ausitn healthy and here we are fighting another health battle. He is on a new medication for 2 weeks and if that does not do the trick we will be making an appointment with an ENT for tubes.....keep your fingers crossed it clears up!
Austin was the reason for the Dr. Appointment and I am thrilled to announce that he is doing great. He weighed 8.11 as of last Thursday so we are packing on the pounds and looking more and more healthy! He is doing great at night sleeping 3-4 hours at a time so going to bed at midnight means only one wake up a night! You dont hear me complaining!! He is also on formula exclusively now and though you would have been hard pressed to convince me, it has turned out to be the best thing for him.
Robs work is still taking up a crazy amount of his time but there have been some major break throughs that will prove more time at home in the long run. The hiring freeze he had has been partially lifted, "survey season" is over and his last survey went really well. The Holidays are obviously over and best of all he has learned all the new systems and feels he has a fairly strong grasp on Pheonix, its market, his roll and how he is going to make his impact! For what it is worth he seems less stressed and we look forward to having him around more.
We have had a great time with Friends here this last week and with each month that passes Rob an I are feeling more and more at home.

Quick update with Photos
The cousins are having soo much fun. Even watching the pool guy is a group activity and soo much fun when your cousins are around.
We also had some major Train Track building this morning that everyone partook in.

The kids picked up right where they left off, no "Hello's" needed they just talked toys and went about their play! It was great. Jess and I have had a wonderful visit and she is so helpful with the baby and kids I feel like I have been on vacation for the last 24hrs....I even ate breakfast this morning!!!
Hope yall think the pics are as cute as we do. No doubt there will be many more to come by the end of two weeks with all these rug rats together.

Hey guys
Hey everyone, we have had a full and wonderful week. Braydon had a father's day (St. Josephs day) celebration at his school with his dad, he had soccer practice, we had a great picnic at the park with friends, Caleb had a BIRTHDAY PARTY and the Doane's came in town. It has been great!
The celebration at B's school was really neat and proved just one more time that we are really lucky to have him in that program! Rob went to his class, the kids sang songs to their dads, they did a really sweet hand print project with Dad and sons hands that brought tears to Mary (my mother in laws eyes) when she saw it. It was a great break for Rob from his crazy week at work and it was really special for Braydon who has been feeling a little left out with the new baby and his brother having a birthday.
Soccer started up for Braydon again this week and we are doing a new and much better program. He got some great skill lessons (all only 5min long due to the kids attention spans) and again a bit more one on one with Dad. It is hosted at a Cheer center so Caleb had a BLAST too, he and his little friends played in the foam pit, on the trampolines and mats....need I mention they were both exhausted after it?
Wednesday was a wonderful outing at a park that ended up lasting all day. The kids ran and played outside for hours and with the weather being so beautiful here we let them enjoy it as long as they could!
Caleb's Birthday party was great. We went to a park right by the house and had about 10 kids come round for Hotdogs and Birthday cake. Once again Rob and I had fun baking the cake and it tasted great!! The theme of this years gifts for him was HORSES and so appropriate. He can not get enough!!! His cake was horses, his favorite gifts were a Huge Barn and ginormous stuffed horse (Braydon has taken over all the other gifts, his favorite is a car that he can take apart and put back together) You will love the pics. Right after the party Rob had tickets to the Mavericks vs. Suns game for him, the boys and his dad. Bradyon went and had a blast and Caleb unfortunately had spent all his energy at the party so he went home and crashed.
The Doanes got in town on Saturday and got to hold their new Grandbaby!! They agree that he is adorable and perfect. Rob and I are waiting for these first few months of sleeping all day and easy-going attitude to change....lets hope we are wrong.
Not much more to update you on other than I love having three little boys in the house! I am the luckiest mom in the world!!!

We are 13 days into being a fam of 5!
We have almost hit our 2week mark and it feels like Austin has been in this family for years already. Things seem to be taking off without much... of a hitch. There have been some adjustment on things like loading and unloading the car, how do we hold hands in the streets now that we are three wide and then the brothers...they are both going through their own adjustments. But for the most part it has been wonderful and soo fun.
Braydon and Caleb certainly love their little brother! Caleb is the first to run and get me if Austin starts crying "mommy, baby crying", he is quite the helper. Braydon is very good at helping Austin put his pacifier back in his mouth, covering him with a blanket and more. They love him but that is not to say that they have had an easy time adjusting.
Braydon obviously feels some lack of control because he is trying to control EVERYTHING!! He is telling all of us what to do and is throwing fits (and then going into time out) if we do not do what he says. i am not sure that Caleb is having a hard time adjusting to the new baby, I think his difficulty is with the drastic changes in his playmate and older sibling. I feel like I am walking a fine line between needing to be more patient because I understand this is going to be tough and taking away all privileges and loosing it with all this unacceptable behavior. Most of you are coming around for a visit soon and I appreciate all and any feed back you will have for me on improvements that need to be made.
I literally almost spent $100+ on parenting books through Amazon the other day when I had hit a break point because I was clearly not doing anything right!! Braydon had just yelled "No" to me when I told him to go in time out for hitting his brother. Caleb (who has been refusing to eat his food at the table and insists on carrying a mouth full of half chewed edibles with him at all times) had just spit some sort of red something all over the white carpet and Austin was screaming his head off from just having tortured himself by peeing on a VERY sore diaper rash. I decided loosing it had to wait and I couldn't afford $100 on books so I took a "time out" for myself and sat in the new lawn chair by the pool for 30seconds outside and turned the kids over to Rob as soon as he walked in the door that evening.

Welcome Austin!
Hey Fam and Friends! Big news in a little package! Austin was born Tuesday at 12:52pm weighing 7.4 oz and measuring 21inches! He came out just perfect, he had no trouble breathing and has passed all other tests so far!
As you can see from the pics he is adorable! It is hard to tell but his hair is a strawberry blonde color and his eyes are blue. Keep you all posted if any of that changes. He is sleeping right next to me in the hospital bed while Rob goes to pick up the boys for their first official meeting!!!
There is not much more to report, out...and I have some snuggles to steal from this little guy before I have to share him with the rest of the family. Miss you all.

Not much to say..
Things are great here. We had a busy week and weekend with friends school and doctors appointments.
The boys maxed out their energy with all the friends they had around and loved it! There is something really special to them about having people over to "their" house!
We went to a few doctors appointments for baby Austin this week and he is doing great! So far he is measuring about 6.4lbs so by the 8th he should be about 7.4lbs. That is a good sized kid! I am feeling very preggers but excited for the little guys to get here. We have one more doctors appt and only 9days left!!! Count down is on!
I think the boys have a sixth sense, they seem to know there is a change in the air. They are both acting out of character naughty and are definately testing their boundaries!! overall though they are amazing.
Caleb is talking all the time!!! And he has these great new sayings like "oh, yeah" and "crazy". You tell him to eat his chicken before he gets down and he says "oh, yeah" or "Caleb come clean up please" "oh, yeah". He has also taken to calling people crazy when they do funny things. Braydon tripped and Caleb shakes his head "Bray is crazy, mommy" it is soo neat to have him communicating this much.
Braydon is using his brother as a fetch and retrieve peer. He asks his brother to do everything and for the most part Caleb not only does it but seems thrilled to do so. Just 5minutes ago Caleb was playing with his own blanket and B says "Caleb will you go up the ladder (bunkbed) and get my blanket" "OK, Bray" and off Caleb goes at a full sprint announcing to me and his dad that he is getting Brays Blanket as he round the kitchen corner. When clean up time come Braydon stands around barking commands..."Caleb, good job now pick up the horses" "K, Caleb you didn't get all the books". Brothers......soon to be three....
Mom comes in on Wednesday and we cant wait. We are all looking forward to showing off our favorite parts of Scottsdale to her!

My life titled "The U"
Warning: This blog may contain subject matter considered "Gross" to the general population.
Inspired and encouraged by my Grandmothers laughter at this weeks events.
With a witness to my life I was brought to the reality that the amount of urine in my day is well above average. I had never really considered it before but because she got such a kick out of it I will share with you all.
So in summary my contact with urine generally starts first thing in the morning and does not break until I have showered it all away in the late afternoon.
3 times this week we had "diaper overflows" at night which means soaking wet PJ's, Sheets and Mattress Protectors. All the cloth that has come in contact with the "U" (as I will refer to it for the rest of the blog) gets dropped in the laundry and the boys get plopped in the tub. We immediately get out of the tub with a trip to the toilet. Caleb, though potty trained has yet to ace the idea of telling me when it is coming so I am always trying to beat him to the punch with multiple trips to the toilet.
So then we have the U during the "going potty" experience. Caleb does a great job but his control has a lot to be improved on, he generally dribbles the first bit onto his feet and the stool and then the stream goes ANYWHERE! I mean anywhere because I am so used to wiping down the walls after he goes that it seems a normal thing. (Robbie also feels that potty training was just trading in "wiping bottoms" for "wiping objects" and I feel he has a very strong argument).
So once again I find myself cleaning up U before I have even had breakfast. The rest of the U comes at indeterminable times throughout the day. We generally have 2 times a day when there is an announcement that the U is coming and I can tell we don't have time to waste; so if in the car we use a bottle if at the house, Caleb gets scooped up and rushed into the nearest bathroom. The bottle idea was my Grandmothers and it has been a huge help in Potty training. It has only gone bad once and that was yesterday.
We were in the car leaving the park when the U announcement came with panic on Caleb's face. I have him stand in the backseat while i grab the bottle, I get his pants down and bottle almost in position when he hits the rim of the bottle and WOW the car and I are soaked in U!!!!! ......oh, it was awesome I assure you......the best part was that my reaction had to get put on hold because the stream was coming and the immediate need was to get the bottle in the right spot to "stop the hemorrhaging" so to speak....U everywhere....and U clean up once again.
I wish I could say that I am only effected by the U with my potty training 2 year old but unfortunately it spans the whole family. Did I mention that my pregnant self has not slept through the night for over 6 months now because of the U? Yeah, last night was a record setter I got up 6 times.....So even Austin is contributing to the U in my life.
And then there are the dogs. 90% of the time their U is of no issue but once again while GiGi was in town (and yes she found all this U overly entertaining, she was laughing every time something happened or a new load of sheets went in the laundry) Devo had a bad dream, jumped out of bed with a yelp and "U"ed all over her bed. So, to add to my sequence of nigh time wake ups I got up at 4am, let the dogs out and took the bed to the trash, cleaned the floor and tried to go back to sleep. Nice.
I know there are a million more stories of the U that would have you all cracking up but I feel if I tell too much more no one will ever want to come to my house, touch my walls, sit in my car or even stand near me so that is all you get :)
We had a great time with GiGi and I was thrilled to have provided the some entertainment for her while she was here. But in truth she provided the entertainment. She treated us to Lunch, dinner and a movie. We had such a great time, she helped get Austin's room all ready, clothes washed, bedding up and so much more....THANK YOU GiGi!!
Almost 2 weeks exactly till little guy gets here! Cant wait!

We are exhausted!
Hey guys, I am embarrassed to admit that it is 7:30 on a Saturday night and things are all wrapped up at the Doane house. We packed a ton into the past two days and no one can keep their eyes open. Birthday party, Parade, Playdates, Dinner with friends, haircuts, Baseball practice and we are only at Saturday. If Rob and I don't fall asleep by 9 we will be impressed with each other.
Friday morning the boys and I went to the Valentines playgroup for MOPS, they did V-day crafts and ran, ran, ran! The park we were at was huge and the group of boys that were there turned into a herd of crazies! Exhausted they made there way home to a short nap and then out to a Birthday party at the Train Park. This birthday was MAGIC, you could see it in both of their eyes. The party was in an old train car, they had cupcakes (that were amazing) and ice cream, the kids played all sorts of games outside like Red Light Green Light, their first game of Tug-a-war and more, after that they rode the train, carousel, and it was all topped with balloons and goodie bags. It ranked right up there with Christmas, only to be spoiled by yours truly. They barely stayed awake on the ride home, we pull into the driveway, I am unloading the boys, diaper bag, goodie bags balloons and snacks (I dont even know how it all gets into the car) when a balloon slips off my hand and flies away......yeah.....two adorable boys staggered in the yard staring.....I am waiting for tear, screams, complaints....something and it doesn't come. After the balloon is all but disappeared B turns to me and asks the simple but mandatory question: "Mom, was that my green balloon or Braydon's balloon?" :)
We skirted that answer went inside and got dinner ready for our friends. B's little friend and his folks stayed till 10:30 so exhausted kiddos is an understatement. This morning, B had his last day of baseball he had to be up at 8 and with no sound coming from the room I decided to let him sleep in....I cracked the door open and B pops his head up and says in a whisper "Mom, is it time for Baseball yet?" so cute!! So he got to go to practice with his dad while Caleb slept till 9. Then it was off the the Parade. Take a look at the snapfish link the pictures show it all, it was very cool! Fair food, live music and tons of horses....largest equestrian parade in the country...very cool.
So here we are snuggled on the couch watching a movie and each of us falling asleep.
The rest of the weekend is fairly chill, we have kids coming over tomorrow to play outside while the adults enjoy Margaritas. Then a sitter for the boys so Rob and I can go to the Basketball game.
For all of you in the freezing cold weather of the rest of the world, I feel a little bad posting pics of our green grass, 75 degree weather and talking Margaritas but I am sure my turn for envy will come when it is 120 here and I am stuck inside sweating.
Braydon asked that he get a haircut that "combs" instead of "spikes" so needless to say Calebs request followed suit so they are now preppy adorable...check out the pics.
Caleb is talking like you would not believe. He adds words to his vocabulary everyday, it is really fun to see what comes out of his mouth. His potty training is going great! He is such a big boy. We are debating whether to put him into School next August, the teachers feel he is ready and he would love to go! We will see...I am not sure if I am ready for him to go yet.....
B got his first sports injury today. He slid to get a ground ball and skinned his knee...Rob loved the effort.
One of my favorite moments from this week was walking in on the boys sitting at the kitchen table with a bunch of toys in a pile. B would pull two out and ask "Caleb which one is the blue one?" He went through all the toys and colors it was really cool. I was also able to get video of them playing with a balloon for over 30minutes laughing as hard as either of them could. They kept having to take breaks to catch their breath and then B would say "ok, Caleb lets do that again, ok?" The laughing would start again, then a break...so on and so on. They are great friends!!!

Rodeo Day, Potty Training Success & Playdates!
Hey everyone, hope you are all doing great. We had a great week and weekend. Braydon's School had their Rodeo Day which was tons of fun, Caleb is potty trained!! and we had a couple playdates that went great! Then the weekend was packed with Friends and Fun.
Rodeo Day at the school happens once a year and it was so cool. The boys were dressed in their boots, hats and best Cowboy gear. Families were invited so Caleb got to participate in everything! Their were Pony Rides, Petting zoo, digging/panning for gold in the sandbox, face painting, square dancing, Hotdogs and more. It was a great time. As you can imagine the pony rides were the big hit but the whole day was a blast and the boys were exhausted by the time we got home that afternoon. It was also Caleb's first diaper free outing and with no accidents I declared SUCCESS. The big excitement for the day was that during the pony ride (parents were not walking around on holding on to the kids) Braydon's pony did a big shake and he held on! One of the dads almost dove to the ground in expectation of him falling but he held tight and laughed when he got off. No crying and he was definately not detured from his next ride. Way to go B! The boys also got to keep the nuggets of gold they found in the sand and it has created hours of fun back here at home. They have re-planted the gold in their sandbox and somehow it is Magic every time a piece is found.
Oh, we also sold a few Golfballapolooza tickets...thanks Mom and Dad.
So, now to the subject of potty training.....I guess in the long run 7days was not bad but 7days felt like 25 and "not bad" translated to misery at the time. But we are 3-4days from when I declared him "trained" and he is doing great. We have had two accidents one that was completely my fault. He told me he needed to go but I waited too long to get off the computer/skype with Jess so we had an accident. The other time was during a playdate and he didn't want to have to come inside. Once he found out I would let him go on a rock he was more that satisfied with that option and was accident free the rest of the day. We have been out and about for the last two days with no accidents so HURRAY! we survived! thank you
to everyone who lent advice it was a compilation of all yalls techniques that got us there...peeing in a cup, peeing outside on rocks, going every 30min, and of course the lovely but falsely guiding book 3Days Potty Training.
We had some friends from our Library group around this Friday and had so much fun. The kids got along great so we will be repeating that again soon. B was so excited to have friends back at his house (it was the first time since we moved here). Saturday we had a family over from B's school and it was another playdate success. Rob and I had a great time with the parents we ended up grilling and they stayed most the day. We finished Saturday off with a night out, we had friends in town from Dallas. It was great to see them and a treat to get out on the town again. We also discovered a Jem of a restaurant right in Old Town that we will have to take everyone to when the come in. Food was AMAZING!!!! and no I am not just saying that cause I am pregnant :).
We spent today at the pool with the Dallas friends again...yeah sorry all you 20below people out there. It was 75 and perfect today. The kids fed the fish at that hotel, chased Rabbits around the lawn and through Bocce Balls with their dad and the guys.
Just one more week before GiGi gets in town so the evening count down is on with the boys. Every night before bed they count back to know how many more days they have to wait for her to get here.
Sorry we don't have a lot of new pics, with all the events of the week there is no excuse! I just forgot my camera EVERYWHERE we went. I can assure you all though that the boys are as cute as ever and growing like little weeds. Caleb has slept till 9am two times this week and they are both putting food down at a very impressive pace....we will need to go up a size in clothes soon.
Baby Austin....no real news. He is still jumping around letting us know that it will not be easy when he gets here. Another apt on the 9th so update you all more then.

Horse Handbags, Potty Training and Sandbox fun
Hey everyone! We had a great last few weeks! With a wonderful visit from the Doanes and Elwells', getting more involved at B's school and having a Sandbox in the backyard we are set for success.
The Doanes got in on a Thursday and we kept them busy till they left on Monday. It was such a treat to have visitors and visitors that love your kids are the best! We had a great visit Friday and Sat and the Elwells' joined us Saturday afternoon for a couple of days of exploring AZ. We were lucky enough to have Mary here on her Birthday and the kids got pieces of cake that were about the size of their heads!!! (It was a special occasion, what can I say :) ) We went to a little cowboy town up in the mountains called Carefree where the boys (who have not let go of their horse obsession) each got a little stuffed horse with its own carrying bag. The idea and their love for them is more than impressive but I have to say it is a bit of a sight to have my two boys walking down the streets with what look like handbags......
We got a craigslist sandbox a while back and with a few modifications it has been the boys new favorite addition. We added an umbrella holder and a cover to keep the neighborhood cats out...it is perfect!!
B's school continues to impress me, I went to my first parent meetings last week and learned all about this years big fundraiser (PLEASE PARTICIPATE) I am in charge of selling 20 golf balls for the Golfballapallosa (sp). It is a big family event that ends with a golf ball drop. 3 golf balls fall into holes and those are the winners. Winner 1 gets 1k, Winner 2 gets and IPad and Winner 3 is yet to be determined. Golf balls are purchased for $20 each.....any takers???? Better than the info and learning my duty as a class mom. I met some other great moms and was invited to their playdates which we are very much looking forward to!
Here is the big one....POTTY TRAINING. I need to first thank Lauren for getting me through this time with B and I certainly did not have the appreciation at the time for the energy that it must have taken so Lauren...THANK YOU!
We decided to train Caleb very early, he is only 22 months and most people say to not train boys until around 3. Well for one I am stubborn, two B was not that difficult to train at 2.5 and lastly I really am hoping to not have two in diapers again.
All that being said I read this lady's book 3Day Potty Training that encourages potty training at 22 months and has major success stories, that and a friend having used the theory were enough to convince me. After all it is just 3days out of a lifetime right???
Well let me assure you it is NOT 3 days and even if it were it is 3days of HELL. I have been dribbled on, hosed, soaked, sprayed, splashed and I don't even know what else by urine in the past 3 days. This is Day 4 and I am holding on to my sanity by a thread. If this is the last blog you all receive from me you will at least have the answer to what "did me in". On top of that I am just hoping that Jessica is not reading this blog because it is going to be the biggest "I told you so" of our lives.
If there are to be more posts/blogs after this I will let you all know if progress has been made.
A few of my recent favorite moments have been: Braydon singing congrats songs to his brother (unprompted) every time he goes potty. It is soo sweet. Also, the boys playing non-stop!!! They are each other best little friends and with Caleb communicating more and more they are getting along great. Also, Caleb has about 4 words that you all have to hear him say on the next phone calls....he has such cute pronunciation...Helicopter, Socks, Shoes and Sticker.....these are my favorites. Lets see what else....oh, they are great helpers with their chores. They have to bring the laundry in from the bedrooms. Each hamper they have to bring in has two handles on it so they push them around the house till they eventually they get it to the laundry area. With one of them having to walk backwards it is always interesting to see what route they take to the kitchen as well as how long it takes them.... cute pics to follow.
Austin is great, no real news. All I know is his movements are less kicking and more elbow and knees so he is getting big!!
Rob is killing it at his job. In the last two months he has won some Major incentives so I can say we are now proud owners of an IPad.....Great job Rob!!! Per his usual he acts as though he is doing nothing outstanding but everything else says the contrary. We are so proud of him!!!

We are back
Life in Scottsdale has officially begun! Braydon started school last week, the sports program he is in started last week and playdates with friends have begun!!
Everything has been a whirlwind since getting home but all fun stuff. Braydon had Basketball the day we got back and did great. He loved it! School was the following Tuesday and he loved that too! I have to admit I was a little crestfallen about how that whole thing went down. I was expecting maybe a few tears or a sorrowful look goodbye when I left but instead he went right into the class, started playing and when I asked for a kiss goodbye he said "No, sorry, I am too busy right now" :( Caleb on the other hand, I had expected nothing from the goodbye of his brother and what I got was a two year old in hysterics for the 20minutes! I had taken his best friend from him and he was mad!! That morning he did not know what to do with himself. He followed me around like a little puppy dog. I cleaned the house, he held my sprays, took toys out of the tub, helped wipe down furniture with a dust rag. He was my little helper but was excited to give the position up with the return of big brother.
Day two of school went much better, I got a kiss and Caleb was able to wave goodbye and look forward to his own time for attention. This week was soccer and I have to say, B was REALLY good. I will give him a C at basketball but a definite A for soccer. Too bad that at the end of the practice he said he liked B-ball better and "when is that practice again?". Not for awhile. This weekend we have T-ball and I am pumped to see him play. We will also have visitors there to cheer him on as well. The Doanes will be in town!!
The count down is on, every morning when the boys wake up they ask how many more days till Grammie and Grampie....Today's answer got the best response so far (3 days seems very manageable to B) "mom, how many days now?" "Now we have 3 days Braydon" "THREE DAYS!! NO WAY!!!! Wow! that is NOT a lot of days mom!"
We are excited!!!!
Other than those two big things I have been able to score some friends from my Library time and today was the marking of the first playdate with them. It was a blast, we went to the Train Park and the kids played uninterrupted for nearly 2hours! We have had ppl over for dinner, met friends at the parks and now playdates. As I said, life is starting!!!
As for baby Austin, he is scheduled to arrive on March 8th! He seems to be doing great and in less than two months he will be here. Can't wait to meet you Austin.
